Can I use Plated Enamel Chains for Permanent Jewelry?

The enamel chains found in this section of our shop are plated so yes, the plating can wear.

Silver & Gold Plated Enamel Chain

Our customers do offer these for permanent jewelry so if you're looking to do the same, here are some things to note: Be transparent and let customers know these are silver or gold plated. Many permanent jewelry artists offer these either as "semi" permanent or they give the option as custom fitted with a clasp. The chain should last months (we've also heard longer) but we encourage all our customers to do their own "testing" to make sure the chain fit your needs and standards. These chains are super popular and customers will purchase them anyway despite being told they are plated.

We’ve also seen PJ artists offering this style as a gift with purchase for a fun seasonal sales promotion (think pinks for Galentine’s Day or red/white/blue for 4th of July promotion!).

Here is a review of this style so you can see from a customer who has used them long term:

If you’re concerned about longevity of the piece, you may consider
.925 sterling silver or 14k gold filled enamel options.
You may find those options here:
